Dr. Yamuna Sundram is a resourceful research scientist and an educator in developing effective curriculum planning, creating plans for experiments and research. She has PhD in Pharmacology, MSc in Molecular Medicine and BSc in Biotechnology. She always dreamed of becoming a doctor as a child, but some way she changed her mind and decided to become a scientist instead because she wanted to better the nation’s access to healthcare by developing molecular diagnostic tools that can automate clinical decision making to increase access to reduce morbidity and mortality rates by detecting diseases at an earlier stage. She is interested in being a successful research scientist and has studied how to create a diagnostic kit to find illnesses quickly, particularly in remote areas with little access to technology. In her message to women everywhere, she applies this rule “Select one concept. Make that one notion the focus of your entire being; dwell on it constantly. Leave all other ideas alone and let that notion fill your muscles, nerves, and every other aspect of your body. This is the route to success and do not give up!”.
Besides the rise of e-learning, wherein instruction is conducted virtually and on digital platforms, education has undergone a significant transformation. She was of the opinion that by utilising a variety of collaboration tools, engagement strategies that encourage inclusion, personalization, and intelligence and enable the learner, online education will one day become an integral part of school education. In advance of it, this enables her to advance further and become the founder of Asia Online Academy by developing a free platform for tutors all over Asia to register for free without any charges in order for them to provide their expertise to the students’ or parents’ requests during this pandemic. Her long-term objective is to establish a virtual school in support of this paradigm shift.
She further started up her own skincare line business by developing her own formula with the brand name SKIN & YOU, she has produced a skincare that actually works wonders and has many positive testimonials from individuals who use the skincare while she was educating herself on skincare as well as how to properly launch, manage, and run a business.
